Powerlines (launch under the powerlines) is a few miles up the road on Sherman Island Road (Sherman Island launch spot is at the end of the road). More than sufficient parking, easy sandbagged access and overnight camping makes this a very popular spot on the river. Traffic moves quickly along this section of the levee so keep your gear well clear of the road.
Listen to the Powerlines, they will tell you how windy it is.
A hum means 4.7-5.0, and when you hear a steady higher pitched whine that sounds like a bad wheel bearing, it's 4.2.

There is no easy exit downwind from the Power Lines, so be careful when sailing on a flood tide.
